Parents and Students, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING...
As of today, Monday, October 17th, students with missing assignments in the Grade Portal have blanks in the spaces in the gradebook for those assignments. Tomorrow morning I will enter a grade of "0" in those spaces. Students who receive grades of "0" for one or more assignment will see a precipitous drop in their average grade for the grading period. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO REVIEW THEIR GRADES ONLINE TO FIND OUT WHETHER OR NOT THEY HAVE MISSING ASSIGNMENTS. The deadline for submitting late or missing work has been extended until the end of the day on Wednesday, October 19th. Parents, should you have any questions please email me at dpgl237school@gmail.com.

Announcements Concerning Grades for 2016-2017 First Grading Period
Attention Students and Parents,
As the end of the grading period draws near, please consider the following information concerning your/your student's grades:
Blank grades for assignments in Focus/Grade Portal will be converted to grades of "0" on Tuesday, October 18th. Beyond that point, I will no longer accept work that is late or has been recycled.
Because students have been allowed to work on and complete the assigned work for this grading period out-of-sequence (with regard to the curriculum) and on different dates, the submission of student work for evaluation is ongoing. Similarly, the return of graded work to students is ongoing. I highly recommend to students and parents careful inspection of student grades, especially in the coming week.
Students with no grade for the "Elements and Principles Unit Test" should check with me ASAP. We took one or two practice test (depending on the class period) before taking the final test. The final test is the actual grade for that assignment. There have been students who, while having completed one or two practice exams, have not taken the final exam, the actual test, and were under the impression that they had. Please make sure you/your student have/has taken the actual graded test.
I have accepted a large volume of late work in the last several weeks. Please know that I am doing everything I can to grade and return that work as soon as possible. If there is a problem with a grade (especially if the grade is showing as a blank) in the Grade Portal on Monday, October 17th, please email me at dpgl237school@gmail.com. I offer this address as an alternative to my traditional DCPS email because, due to an extremely high volume of email received in my DCPS account, I don't always notice parent correspondence.
